Thomas Jefferson High School

Class of 1961

45th Reunion

Dear TJ Class of ‘61 Graduate:

Yes, it’s that time again - our Quinquennial (remember, it means every five years) Reunion will be held May 5 - 6, 2006.  Hopefully, you received a postcard forewarning you.  If not, it’s because you moved in the last five years and didn’t let us know.  At any rate, mark your calendars now and start making plans.  If you’ve never attended one of our reunions, you don’t know what you’re missing and it’s time you joined us.

Jay Ferguson has once again made arrangements for a golf scramble to get things started off for our 45th Reunion. Following is the information:

TJ Class of ‘61 Golf Scramble

Friday, May 5th - 10:30 a.m.

Indian Creek Golf Club, Carrollton, Texas

1-35 and Frankford Road

$50/person/green fees, cart, range balls & a box lunch

All golfers of every ability , guys and gals, are invited to come and play with us for this fun outing, as we gather to celebrate our 45th TJ Reunion. Golfers will be arranged as a 4-player team with A, B, C, and D players ( I know ....some of you consider yourself a Z-player, and that's OK ..... it's just another excuse for us to have fun together, so don't let that keep you from signing up).

We will also need 3-4 people who can help at our Registration Desk on the morning of the Tourney.

To sign up, send a note to Jay Ferguson at with all your contact information (telephone number and email address), or call Jay at 972.307.7557 (locally) or 800.259.7717. Include average score for 18 holes, or handicap, if you have one.

We will gather informally on Friday evening just to meet and greet in the Grille at the Park City Club, 5956 Sherry Lane, 17th Floor, Dallas, Texas 75225.  This has been a popular way to start the festivities, and a good way to connect up quickly with old friends and do your own thing for dinner, etc.

Saturday, May 6th we will assemble again in the Grille at the Park City Club for brunch and more, more, more visiting.  Then spend the rest of the day visiting and catching up on all the news of old classmates, shopping Dallas if you don’t live here any longer, or just plain napping to get prepared for the Really Big Party Saturday evening.  We will gather at the Park City Club Saturday evening with spouses and/or significant others for medium to heavy hors d’oeuvres, drink (cash bar), dancing to the “oldies” and entertainment by “The Nightcaps” and more visiting.  No official gathering on Sunday.  We hope this schedule will allow everyone time to visit with old friends as well as spend time with family, if you’re coming in from out of town.

PLEASE take a few minutes and look over the "Lost List".  The task of keeping up with you guys becomes more and more difficult as the years go by.  If you know the whereabouts of anyone, or someone who might, please let us know as soon as possible.

PLEASE fill out the enclosed information sheet and return it even if you are not coming and even if you do not want one of our famous “Quinquennial” directories.  Thanks to Don Swindler and Ed Lawson we have a new class website:  We also have a class Yahoo group email site which can be reached at  Put tj61dallas in the window and log in. This is a free site and a great way to reconnect with old friends prior to the reunion.

We have arranged for a block of rooms at the Park City Hilton.  They are giving us a preferred rate of $115.00 per night (only slightly higher than we paid five years ago.  Please make your reservation directly with the Park City Hilton at 469.232.4929 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Be sure to ask for the Thomas Jefferson Class of 1961 45th Reunion Group Rate.  Or you may go to and enter the three-letter code TJH under the “Special Accounts” section to receive a room from our block and the special rate.  We even encourage the locals to “check in” for the weekend so that you don’t miss out on any of the fun. All reservations must be made by April 14, 2006 in order to receive the discounted rate.

Please send your information sheet in as quickly as possible with your check for the events or the Directory.
